Hi!
We're looking at getting a milk goat, so I'm here to find information on choosing a breed, how to start, which age to get, etc. We want milk. We were thinking about starting with a pregnant female.
Any info, advice, experience, etc. would be very welcome!!!
Thanks.

Any dairy breed will give you plenty of milk, but I'm partial to small breeds so I'd go with a Nigerian Dwarf.
You'll want to get a companion for your goat as they are herd animals and do better when they have a herd even if it's just 2 of them. So you could get 2 females or 1 female / 1 wethered male.
There is a lot of info on this site so read read read :) Best wishes!

Does wethered mean castrated?

Thank you. I didn't know there were miniature goats. Could you please post a pic of the miniature Nigerian goats or post a link for me?

I will read up on them. Thanks!
