I have two 11 week old doelings. Their stomachs blew up like balloons, hard as a rock. Day 1: At first my goat coach thought worms. day 2: So I treated, no results. Day 4: Then I was reading on here and I thought ok, bloat. day 5: So we treated, no results. Scared to death. day 6 took temps, one normal one a bit raised, nothing terrible. Bellies a little better, not much though. Goats eating/drinking/peeing & pooping normal all this time. Let them feed on just grass all day and drink water, nothing else. Even better at end of day. Took them to my home, put in dog pen, plenty of grass, hay in dog house for bedding. Additional worming med. Day 7: back to normal. totally great!, but I am still stumped as to what their condition really was. worms, needed two treatments? or bloat?

I've chewed on this one for a bit because the only thing that I can tell you for sure is this was not bloat. Bloat does not take 7 days to resolve. Your goats would not have survived that long had it been bloat and would not have been able to continue their eating / drinking / relieving routine normally.

What were you dealing with? Worms? Maybe....possibly. Eating a toxic substance? Again, maybe. Whatever it was, I'm glad it worked itself out and your wee ones are back to normal.

Poppit & Mystic are back with the herd. Mystic seems 100 percent better. Poppit (black& white) seems off still. Can't figure it out, just doesn't seem herself yet. Both were actually doing a bit of hea bunting yesterday. Crossing my fingers and praying.
