I have been giving them alfalfa/orchard mix, but I haven't been able to find any. Is grass hay OK for them? They get rabbit pellets, so the the hay would just be a source of roughage to keep their system running smoothly. I found some bales on Craigslist, that I might get tomorrow. What do you think?

Yes, grass hay is fine for rabbits. I had orchard grass for my alpacas and fed it to the rabbits as well. Did great on it.

If you are feeding an alfalfa based pellet, then they don't need an alfalfa hay. A good grass hay is all that they need, Timothy or Coastal, really any kind of good, grass hay.

Most of the hay I have available is a Fescue hay sometimes with an orchard grass mix. No complaints from the buns, they like it and what they waste, I put on the path to the rabbit barn to keep from traipsing mud back into the house when it's wet. My barn ( a converted , former chicken coop) is back in the woods a little)
