Hi there,
We picked up two llamas this weekend that needed a new place to live. We called thme Moonstone (12, mother) and Jasper (10, daughter). We are very excited. We lack experience with camelids but have had horses for ages and I also have tons of experience with sheep, goats, and milk cows.

Funny thing is two of our four horses are totally panicked and still not coming anywhere near the llama pen :D. And those two are the lead and second in charge. It is hilarious

(I'll post a pic later as it's not allowed on first post )

ksalvagno, thanks for the welcome! I'll probably be asking some "dumb" questions from time to time :hide . I did buy two books on llamas though and am eagerly reading...

:)Hi You will fall in love with them so much. I have had 3 llamas sence June 2010. I fall in love with them from the first hum they made at me. I have one girl that talks more that the other two. I have 2 females and one male . The male has to have his own pen. And once right after i got them my little girl jumped a 4 foot fence like it was not even there.
They eat less than my goats do. A bale of hay a week per each llama.
