Ivermectin Pour-On

I have some ivermectin pour-on. I have read it can be used either as a pour-on or orally. Which is best? Pour-on would be easiest for ME but if orally would be bettter for THEM then that's what I'll do....

No, don't use it as oral.
I use it as a pour-on here. Works well to keep the bugs off or to control any external bugs....

we used the pour on for awhile, but fecal counts showed it was not being absorbed into the goat. the pour on was designed for cattle which have larger pores. vet reccommended all wormers go orally, so would get one you can use that way.

I've been thinking of trying the Ivermectin pour on for goat lice. I can only find it in huge quantities for large herds though.

I've used panacur for internal parasites and that works well. Albon in young goats to keep coccidia counts down.

Ivomec injectable works on lice. I inject it. There are also powders that you can use but I have never used them so I don't know which ones.

I read that the pour ons build up in their system and can become toxic over time, when used as pour ons. They don't metabolize it the same as cows or some such....
I can't remember where I read it but I remember the article making enough sense to me at the time to scare me into not using it as a pour on, ever.
There are enough other forms of ivermectin out there that I've never needed to use it (pour on) orally....I'm no help for you there.
