Well I checked my new lamb all over for a second time since I got back with her and sure enough I found some lice. YUCK!
What can I use on a long wool Shetland ewe lamb to get rid of these guys, and are the lice species specific, or am I in trouble?

YIKES!... did you get a picture? Where did you see them?

@ Flockencrazy- how much? as a drench and how much pour on? Also you have hair sheep, would that work well on wool sheep (the pour on)

We never found anything on ours although I was suspect because he was pulling wool. Changed his hay and feed and he doesn't do it as much anymore.

I would give her a regular dose orally(by wieght on the bottle) then pour on 2 or 3cc on the skin near her rump. If that doesn't clear it up, the vet can give you somthing to give her. Our vet uses the Cydecton. Lice are a parasite so most wormers should work. They usally aren't difficult to get rid of.

Of the lice? No, I need someone to come home and hold her for me to be able to do that. I saw them towards the back of her spine, tiny little white things crawling around, YUCK!!
I had been checking around her head and shoulders and didn't notice anything.

Yes this mainly comes from my woolly days. Not much problems with lice and the hair sheep. My brother just had lice on his sheep(the ones I sold him) last month. He up to 7 lambs now. just had another set of twins minutes ago. I'm so wanting lambs.
