Exploring the pasture
I am the proud owner of 3 yearling siblings…2 does and 1 wether. I also have 2 of my daughters two year old does bred and due to come here for kidding. She was not interested in having more kids or milking. I make cheese so of course I was up for the arrangement. I adopted two does from a farm who needed homes for their large herd due to heath issues. They are a mother and daughter. Told they were 6 and 4. Through vet records I found out that the mother is 11 and the daughter is 4. The older doe was skinny and I have been working since adopting them 5 weeks ago to get weight on her. They were both supposed to be open. Apparently someone who was kind enough to help didn’t realize that the bucks were to be kept separate. So now through ultrasound I know that the daughter is carrying at least 3 kids. Not really sure of exactly when she was bred so it’s going to be a surprise
luckily I do know when my daughters does will kid. So that’s my story. And just like that…I have a herd!
