Looking to get some live kefir grains. Had some a while back and was making the BEST smoothies with the kefir and my raw goats milk...until my daughter threw them away thinking I left spoiled milk on the counter!!! I wanted to cry, but she thought he was "helping" me clean the kitchen!! (She is only 8, and she actually did a great job on the rest of the kitchen!!)

I started looking on Ebay, but there are a lot of different sellers to choose from and some said it would take 3 weeks to get here to PA??? Anyone have a reliable source?

Thanks so much!!

Hmmm....never thought of using the dried or powder form. I was actually looking for the live grains. Do you use th epowdered form? Any difference? Same health benefits with the live and the freeze dried?

It's freeze dried and the bacteria basically go into hibernation. They will wake up and become living grains again, otherwise they wouldn't work to make kefir. :)

I just started making Kefir myself. LOVE IT! Now I don't have all the work of yogurt making. Kefir is so much easier and much better for you...

Just looked at some on Caprinesupply.com They have the powder to make one time or they also carry the other type that you can re-culture yourself. :D

Did you find kefir grains yet? I got mine from a lady at work, then I found out my Cousin also makes it. I have shared mine with friends, maybe you can find someone in your town that is making it to get a start. I don't know where you live, some people say they can mail it and it still works. Let me know if you ever found any.. Maybe I can try to send you some if you still have had no luck.
