Loving the herd life
In my few years of raising rabbits I have never ever lost one to heat. Thought I was doing really well. Until today. 
Starting yesterday we are having this crazy freak heat storm. It was 70* last week and yesterday and today it's been up to 100*.
I checked on the rabbits this morning at 10 and everyone was fine, all had water etc.
Went back out an hour later to put in their frozen water bottles and SIX rabbits were passed away. 
And this was IN the shade. 
That effectively cut my rabbitry in half.
I hosed all the rabbits off, refilled their waterers with cool water, added an additional bowl of water in each one and put in the 1 gallon frozen bottles.
We're going back out there this evening to erect another shade canopy for them since the wind blew down my last one.
I'm kicking myself for not putting in the frozen bottles sooner.
