What do you all think about this recipe for a milk stand ration?

9% Corn
25% Distiller's Grain
25% Yellow Peas
25% Oats
7% BOSS
9% Beet Pulp

Any guess on the % protein?

Would you crack the peas and corn or feed all whole?

Thanks.

Assuming my calculations are correct based on the feed composition table I used, the protein will be 19.26%.

You can google feed composition tables (or even look directly at the feed tag for exact composition of the feed you're feeding, since even corn values vary throughout the nation) and take the amount you're feeding (let's say if you mixed 100 lbs of feed, you'd be feeding 9 lbs of corn) and multiply it by the percent protein (9 lbs of corn x 9% protein = 0.81 lbs of protein), calcium, phosphorus, etc. Then you add up all of the lbs of protein for all of the different feeds and you divide by 100 (the weight of the mix) to get the % protein (or calcium or phosphorus or whatever you're trying to figure out).
