What all should mini donkeys be eating?

They arrived with a few "treats" and a bag of horse pellets.

I want to make sure they are getting the proper diet.

Congrats on your beautiful donkeys! :love I feed mine the same as my pony, free choice hay in the winter and fall, pasture in the summer and spring, MINIMAL treats (they get fat easily) and a very small daily amount of supplement for minerals etc (I feed Purina Enrich 12). They end up with about a 1/2 cup of supplement a day each. I give sweet feed (just a few handful) when I need to bribe him. Don't feed alfalfa hay only, it is bad for their kidney, I try for a mostly grass hay with just a little alfalfa mixed in.

I have a standard size donkey, after alot of research, and cross referenceing--I'm following the recommendtions from Lucky three ranch's Meredith Hodges. My donkey gets 1cup of crimped oats, 1oz. sho-glo and 1oz. M. corn oil for summer and pastured. My pasture here is almost burned up so I have upped his oats to 2 cups and this winter it will go to 1 pound, we also watch the type of hay, low protein, non-lumgue hay is best, we found some bermunda. He is NEVER allowed any corn or sweet feed, besides being bad for their digestion, that's were the unsightly neck roll begins. I don't have any books or DVD's yet, but I plan to purchase her books and see about a little training. All of this works for mini's, the amount of feed is about half for a mini, for Manmoths it's doubled. when you get to her website look under diet in ask Meredith ,Good Luck!
