Mini Nubians

I have a lovely mini nubian 3rd generation doe. She is from Green Gables Farm. Dual registered. I am looking for mini nubian buck services this Fall near Columbia/Fulton, MO area. I cannot describe what a perfect doe she is! Friendly, very easy milker, milks out over a half gallon a day of very rich sweet milk. I would be willing to trade off-spring for buck services as well. I really do not want to breed her to a Nigi buck because then her kids would go back to 1st generation and I am sure they would have "airplane ears" which are cute but not consistent with the Mini Nubian desired features. I love mini nubians. I have a buckling coming from Green Gables Farm next year. I am breeding one of my Nubian does to a 1 st generation buck this year. Eliya from Green Gables should be able to help you. She is a great person. Good Luck finding a buck. THey are very hard to find. I have been looking for mini nubians around me for more than a year.

I have found two sources for buck services "near" me. One is 4.5 hours from here, and one is 6 hours from us. Not much help, but those are our only options. I am probably going to drive 4.5 hours and borrow a buck from the breeder where I got two of our girls because I am having such a time telling whether or not they are in heat. The buck's name is Driftter, and he is an F2 with a sweetheart of a personality and great ears. If we like him and the neighbors don't complain too much about the smell, we might be keeping him full time. Her farm is in VA, google Whispering Pines Mini-Nubians to look at her herd.

Either way, we are in WV, on the KY and OH border along the Ohio River. We will probably be going down to get him late October or early to mid November. You would be welcome to bring your girls here then. I have no idea how far that is, I'm sure probably WAY TOO FAR for you, but I wanted to give the invitation anyway.

I normally would prefer to have a closed herd, but mini-nubians are a TERRIFIC breed, and I hate it that everyone is having so much trouble finding kids and bucks. Just trying to help out. BTW - we will have kids on the ground here in WV in the spring if anyone is interested.

I also know of a breeder that offers Buck services for minis in Harper's Ferry WV, which is very near Maryland. Goggle Awee Farms to look at her minis. They are beautiful!

I am in LOVE with my girls and will do anything I can to help other mini-nubian owners, although that isn't much right now with limited space and close-ish neighbors. PM me and let me know where you are located and I will see what I can do to try to help you find breeders will to offer buck services.
