Hi guys! I have started training my little suffolk ewe lamb for a show in May! She is only about 1 month or 2 months old. I haven't used the halter yet, I've just been brushing her, bracing her and trying to get her to walk without a halter. She is showing improvement and is starting to like getting groomed. She sets up very nice. Her name is Olive and she is my ewe named, Mary, she is her lamb, who was my first sheep ever and is almost 10 years old! Here are some pics! I will update ya'll on Olive's training!

UPDATES:
Olive is now 7 weeks old! She weighs 55 pounds today! She's growing and within a week or so she's gained about 10 lbs! She's growing a lot. Her training is starting to pay off. She now walks without a halter wonderfully and sets up beautifully! She only needs to gain 25 more pounds at least to be qualified for the show in May!

Here's an album of photos of Olive

I'm jealous you've already got her bracing. I'm reallllllly bad and tend to wait till its like working with trains to train them. I got lucky last year and won my showmanship class. The judge said my lamb was well trained wich was funny since the only time I had worked with him was earlier that morning. Here's a trick for halter training if she turns out to be ornery. You can tie her up for a while so she learns she can't fight the halter. Also if one of your older ewes is halter broken you can use them to lead her. You're doing a great job she already looks like a mini show lamb.

yes she is purebred(I am pretty sure, if not she has a lot of suffolk in her). Yes I do a lot in my 4-h. I do shows, and the judging team :)
