I don't know what's going on with her. She has the run of the barn. Nothing is new. She has been hiding in a dark room for a few days. Usually she comes out to greet me when I chore etc. I finally got her to come to me, so I put her in her cage for a couple of days. She was eating a drinking as usual, so I let her out again. She was ok for a couple of days, and now she put herself back in her cage. (She has NEVER done that other to eat or drink) I haven't closed her in, she just stays there. Tonight, she did not eat her oatmeal. She went over to it and sniffed, then left it. Oatmeal is her favorite. Her coat looks good, her eyes are bright. I have no idea what might be wrong. She's a little over a year old.

Is she fixed? Sometimes, rabbits can stray from their usual selfs because they want to be bred.

She's not fixed, but we tried to breed her 3 times this spring. None of them took. She has been out of her cage today, but not eating or drinking that I can tell. She licked my fingers though. She likes to do that. She kind of mouthed the hay today, but I don't think she ate that either.

I petted her this am and she seemed to be real hot. Called the vet and guess what? They have a new vet that comes in twice a month and she knows rabbits! Today was her day. I couldn't believe the timing. I took Bridgette in. She had lost about 2 lbs and -was running a temp of 106.2. The vet gave her some antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. B is locked in her cage so I can watch her water intake. Hopefully, she'll be better in a couple of days. I'll keep you posted.

Went out to chore this morning and Bridgette was not doing well. I called the vet's office. They were unable to get ahold of the rabbit vet, but she left orders if B didn't improve. DH and I just gave her SQ fluid, vit B shot and 12cc of baby food carrots. She is very dry, so hope the fluid helps her. She drank a little last night and tried to eat a bit of strawberry and a couple flakes of oatmeal. I feel so bad for her.

I'm sorry about your girl. Hope this doesn't discourage you from getting another in the future.

I don't know. Rabbits are so complicated! DH said not to make up my mind now. Wait until spring. I usually have to fill the empty space right away when I lose a pet, but this time is different. My barn isn't as sunny right now...
