Hello friends!

I have a 5 year Jersey named Tilly that I purchased in July. She was dry when I bought her (last calf was 2 years ago) and I took her to a jersey bull to be naturally inseminated. The bull mounted her on her heat date. 23 days later in August, she came into heat again. Again came into heat on Sept 14th and I had her AI'd (my guy said she def wasn't pregnant). 23 days later in October she came into heat. Had the vet check her out a week later and he said def not pregnant. He ultrasounded her and found her to have a cystic corpus lutuem on her right ovary. He gave her a hormone injection to speed up heat. 2 days later she came into heat but my AI guy was out of town (of course!) so we skipped that insemination. 15 days later she came into heat AGAIN :) So my plan was to AI her on Thanksgiving when she was to come into heat again. But she didn't!!

Is it possible she may be pregnant? I haven't preg tested her yet because I am trying to save the money :)

Anyone have any thoughts? I'd greatly appreciate them!

Truthfully, I would sell her. As long as you've been trying, I would say she probably has a fertility issue. But than again there are way more knowledgable people on this site who will chime in who will be able to have a better idea.
I come from the land of "if she's open off to market she goes" so I haven't heard much on solutions
Hoping she has a bun in the oven :D

Is she pregnant? If she keeps going into heat it's pretty obvious that she's not. To be blunt, you're not saving any money by having a constantly-open cow. She's not only got a fertility problem, but if she's cystic there's a big chance that she's a cull, and was the main reason why the dairy that she came from sold her.

Even if you try to get her AI'd there's a big chance she won't take because she's cystic.

If I were you, I'd sell/butcher her and look for another cow, and take it as a lesson learned to make sure that the next cow you get is indeed breedable. :)

My suggestion is to cull her, but if you insist on trying to breed her, have your vet give her another shot of either cysterellen, ovacyst, or factrel (any of them will work about the same). She should come into heat again about a day or two later. Do NOT try to breed her on this heat. Wait for the next heat, and you will have better results. And---(this is something that I rarely suggest to anyone), but I'd have her bull bred instead of AI. A problem breeder like this will generally settle better by natural means. Good luck!

Thanks y'all! I guess what I'm trying to figure out is why she didn't cycle this time? Could it be possible she is pregnant and has been having false heats?

Doubtful she's had that many false heats. They rarely have any at all, and then only one very minor one.
