I'm cross breeding NZW and Californians. Such a fun adventure it's been so far. I'm going to have to build my own nest boxes, which in itself is not a large task, but I've seen so many sizes of nest boxes and am not sure how large they are really supposed to be for this breed. My research on the net has really been no help, can someone just tell me what the dimensions should be?

I'm also crossing NZW and Cali. I just built them new boxes. 8 1/2"wide, 14" long, 4" tall in the front and 9" tall in the back. I'm not sure what size they "should be"? But I looked at my rabbits size and built them to what I thought would work best.

"Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits" recommends a nestbox 18" L, 10" W & 10" H for everything but the giant breeds.
I have Florida Whites which top out at 5 lbs and my nest box is 10"x18"x6"
That seems to work great for them.

the lady w/ 4 dogs, 4 city chickens, 5 meat rabbits, their kits and a lizard
