Farmer Kitty, I just thought of something when I was reading the different articles on here.

Why don't you have a Pasture/Range forum? I know there's the feed forum, but feed is different from pasture, if you think about it. One because there's different ways to manage pasture and range in different grazing programs, sowing seed for pasture, stockpiling, swath grazing, etc. Do you understand where I'm going?

Then there is general geography and micro climate influence on pasture. 1/4 mile apart can make a huge difference.

Different management techniques could be the same no matter where you are. But, what to plant depends on the region you are in.

This could still be discussed in Feeding Time. Maybe we could give Feeding Time a new title that could encompass both the feeding of roughages put up for winter or supplemental as well as pasture/rangeland. It needs to include grain too.

My challenge to you guys is: To come up with some ideas for renaming Feeding Time and arguments as to why it would/would not be a good idea to have both under the same heading.

Ideas on titles.

You guys need to make the point here. We can't just add a new category because someone requested it. It needs to be justified. I've let Nifty know of the request and gave him the link to this thread. Now, you guys need to convince him why we need to either rename "Feeding Time" or add a new category.

There's currently no thread on it.

If you guys want Nifty to seriously consider this request you need to make your point. The challenge I have issued to you is what Nifty would issue-I've been there for you guys. Now, it's your turn.
