New from NY!!! And soon to be goat farmer! :D

Hi All! I found this site through BYC and am so excited to join the ranks of those that have branched out from poultry! We are living in Central NY. We have had alpacas since last year and will soon be diving into the joys of goat farming! Woot! We can't wait. I'm going to look at 4 does tomorrow morning while DH is at work. He is under the impression that I am going only to LOOK! (He went to a friend's house the other day to pick up hay, and came home with a kitten, so I think I have been allowed the right to bring home a few goats!) I wonder if I can sneak them into the cab of the truck on the ride home? There are 2 Nigerian Dwarf does available (4 years old) , and 2 Nigerian Dwarf x Nubian does available.

Goat experts...feel free to chime in with advice. I'm going to need it!

Biggest piece of advice I can give you is to make sure your housing and fencing is in place before you bring them home.

I understand this is solid advice! Thanks. We live on a main road and will take all precautions necessary to keep them safe. Looking up housing options as we speak. Is ther not a search feature here on BYH?
