Welcome! You sound like you're living a wonderful adventure with lots of work and lots of rewards! Hope you find some goats near you- ours would be a day's drive away. We love our Nigerian dwarf goats and are grateful we found them when we did so that we get to enjoy their refreshing milk and their charming and fun personalities.

Welcome from Texas! My earliest memories are of toddling behind my Daddy in his garden. He taught me the love of soil and I learned a lot from him. I am 63 now, my Daddy is long gone, and I still garden.

Have patience, teach your children. You are planting seeds in their fertile minds. :love You sound like an awesome Dad.

Greetings and welcome to BYH from NE TX! So glad you joined us. Sounds like you have a nice workable set up. I think you'll love your dairy goats when you get them. There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

well my wife and I went to an auction today. The dairy goats they had looked pretty rough so we didn’t end up buying any this time. However there was a little Hereford heifer calf all on her lonesome (probably the prettiest calf I have ever seen and I just had to have her) so I guess we have our first bottle baby calf
