New Goats

New to this site and goats with lots of questions.

If you were just starting out raising goats for pets, whcih method would you choose:

I could get a 2yr old bred Saanen doe due in March bred to a Toggenburg buck and hope for doeling kids, or I could wait and purchase Toggenbug doeling kids and raise them? I'm really torn over this one.

Any insight would be appreciated.

If you specifically want females, then I would wait and get the doelings. With the pregnant female, you never know what you will get. Plus you will have to deal with the birth and take care of things. There is a lot more to it than you think. Let the experienced goat farmer deal with the birth and initial care to get them healthy and ready for you.
