So we just picked up our new horse and I am always am worried that maybe she is showing signs of colic. It has been 13 years since I have owned a horse so I feel a little out of practice. Here's a little background info, she is a 4 year old Paint, that was originally on pasture before I received her, she still has a small pasture area here at my place but not as big as the previous so I do give her hay (Brome/Timothy mixture). She is eating and drinking (drinking not as much as I would like though), walking around and having bowel movements. The thing that makes me think she may have a mild case of colic is, she is really gassy, she has some grumbling going on in her stomach, she lays down every once in a while but will get up on her own if I go up to her. I know I might be a nervous new mama, but I just feel out of practice and would like a little advice I have only had her for two and a half days, so it very well could be her just adjusting to the new pasture and environment but any advice would be nice. Thank you
Another note she was running around a little today and chasing the goats out of her area.
