my wife and i have decided to raise pigs as a hobby we are looking for a young boar in the damascus va area any haelp would be greatly appreciated thank you all

There are plenty of breeders out there - depends on what breed you are looking for? Whatever you do, buy from a breeder that is raising the pigs as you want to raise them. SO if you are looking for a pastured pig, then buy from someone raising theirs on pasture. If you are just wanting to raise a pig in a pen which is not what I recommend but many do it, then buy from someone that raises them like that.
By the sounds of it you are looking to breed pigs? Different breeds of boars have very different temperaments so do your research. Some boars can be extremely mean, others very docile. Folks that come here are constantly amazed at how docile our Large Black boars are & are always saying, "Wow! I could never do that with the boar I once had!"
What age boar are you looking for? Older ones are sometimes hard to find but it is not impossible. We just sold one of our older ones this morning. Young ones are usually easy to find.
