new kids eating hay?

I have 4 day old doelings and they both have started immitating mom by nibbling at the hay.. I have seen BOTH of them eat a strand or two of it so far.. My fear is it may be too early? I dont want them to choke .. I am a total goat newbie, so just wanted to know..

Don't worry, nibbling is normal. They are just "mouthing" stuff. They will be OK. It's cute to watch them do it.

Yes it was very cute... the older girl actually got a piece down, though she did not chew it, which is why I was worried.
