Hello!

We are a 4H family of several years with rabbits and chickens right now. We regularly have a variety of grazers as well, though we are currently without. Normally, goats, pigs, and cows are included in our farm family. We also have the obligatory farm dogs and farm cats.

We have blue orpington standard chickens. They are big, buxom, and beautiful. We have around 50 chicks right now ranging in age from a few days to 10 weeks. My current love is my bantam Dominiques; cute little barred fluffs! We also have a few silkie bantams, Belgian Quail D'anvers, and buff cochins. The next age group down has brown leghorn standards, buff laced polish for character, and silver spangled hamburgs for flash. The kids can't wait to show the new birds and build their bantam flock.

Our rabbits are Californians. We have two does and a huge buck named Chuck. They are due to have litters in mid May to make the under 10 week-old fryer category. We also have two crossbred does who are facing retirement since they are 4 and 5 years old respectively. They make great meat babies, but are also more pet than producer. They have earned their rest and relaxation.

I love BackYardChickens and have finally found my way BackYardHerds. My husband, twin sons, and my daughter look forward to learning more about our livestock and growing in self-sufficiency.
