Good morning everyone! I am overjoyed to be here! I am in the process of purchasing a 1 acre property zoned for hobby farms and I can’t wait to get started! My plans right now are a small herd of Southdown sheep, a flock of chickens, and an orchard.
I have zero experience with sheep, so I will will be asking plenty of questions and advise is very welcome.

Welcome from Texas! We raise Katahdin hair sheep. Are you going to spin the wool?

I never learned to knit or crochet. There is a spinners guild the next county over, but I refuse to investigate further. If I got interested, I would buy wool sheep, then learn how to shear, probably get coats for them to protect the wool. Then buy a spinning wheel, learn how to use it, learn how to knit and crochet and "gift" my "victims" with experimental offerings of mangled, twisted and knotted wool. You see where this is going, don't you? Then to make it worse, someone near us has Wensleydale sheep and puts them on Craigslist. Nope. No. Not going there! LOL LOL
