Our Boer goat kidded yesterday afternoon. She had one kid (female) and we noticed her bottom looks red and slightly swollen/buldging - since immediately after birth. I've seen her urinate and deficate so no problems there.

See attached picture - any ideas?

I know in humans it's fairly common since there's still a lot of hormones coursing in both mom and baby. It may be the same for goats too.

Thanks for the compliment on the kid. Much appreciated. We just had a lot of concern about the area on her.

What a cute baby!

I'd keep an eye on her rear and make sure everything is doing ok. If she is going to the bathroom fine, not bleeding, and it does not seem to cause a lot of pain or itching, just leave it alone and see what happens.
