Hi,

I am new to this forum and wanted to say hi. I am considering starting a backyard farm that would include a couple of goats and a couple of chickens, along with my lab puppy. Just interested in getting some information from more experienced goat/chicken/dog people on keeping these kinds of animals, particularly in a more urban environment. We leave on a .5 acre in suburban Dallas. Chicken keeping has been quite popular in my area, but not too many goats. I am considering getting a couple of pygymy goats to keep as pets and maybe eventually for milk (I am considering a doe and a wether), just hoping to do a lot of research over alot of forums before embarking on this.

Glad to meet everyone!

We have a mini farm right now with chickens, goats (2 wethers) and our dog. It's a nice little setup. We are planning to expand the chicken space and get an incubator soon. I'm hoping we will get around to fencing in more room for the goats too so maybe we can add some more goats (preferably does). I do wish we had more land though. We are limited on what we can do with our 3/4 acre.
