Hi,
We are the Brown's and we live in Eastern Wake County about 15 miles outside of Raleigh, NC.

We bought our first 3 nigerian dwarf doelings in 2009 mostly to keep a wooded lot cleared. My wife said if we were going to get goats we should get a dairy breed so we could produce our own milk.

Then, she thought it would be a good idea if let our daughter show them in the ADGA Youth show at the N.C. State Fair.

Now, here I am, 20 goats later

I learned about the site at the fair this fall and have been reading every since. I've seen some good information, and some bad information. Finally decided to sign up.

:welcome from Davidson County, NC

I'm curious how you are set up. We have 4 goats on approximately 1/4 acre area. Our 2 does are bred but we plan to sell all kids. Possibly keeping a doeling if we fall in love with one but would have to get rid of one of the wethers to do that. We are trying not to overtax our lot. In my head 20 goats on an acre is a lot. We were told that 4 should be our max with our space so we don't overtax the land. We are hoping to get more land at some point though, but it may be a while.
