I was wondering if anyone knows a nigerian dwarf goat breeder in northeast Ohio. I live in Austinburg, OH and need to breed my nigerian doe to a buck in October. I don't want to drive more than an hour to breed her so closer is better. Thank you to any one who can help.

Welcome to the forum!!

Maybe check the Nigerian Dwarf Goat Association (NDGA) site for someone close to you. There are a few people on this forum in your area but they might have closed herds and not offer outside breeding. We are just starting to offer breeding services but require a lot on the part of the doe's owner before we will provide service (testing of the does and such). Best of luck to you!

Checking the NDGA website is always a smart way to go about things. The only issue with that is that they NEVER update it!! I've been a member there for many months and I'm still not up there. *sigh*

Best of luck to you finding that stud!!

Try New Moon Nigerians. I'm not sure if they offer buck service but they may know someone who does.

I was told not to use them by the lady I got my nigis from. It looks like I might have to though because I can't find any one else.

I don't know anything about them but don't know too many people that far northeast. I know there are more breeders out that way but don't know who. The only other person that I know is Cindy Dahl of Wild Wind Farm but she is in Lodi which would be at least a 2 hour drive for you. I know there is a woman named Chris out that way but I have no idea what her last name is or her farm name.

Contact Linda from Elk Leap Farm (you can find them on facebook), she seems to know everybody with goats in the area so even if she doesn't do stud service she'll know someone who does.

Elk Leap has Boer and Nubian so not sure if she would know Nigerian breeders but it can't hurt to ask.
