Ok, warning, I am all kinds of paranoid right now. I ended up running into a potentially infectious herd yesterday. I still want a nubian though. I don't know any nubian breeders though. I have connections for almost every other breed. I might have to wait till spring and I am ok with that but I think I need to start figuring out the best place to get myself a girl. Suggestions?

Where are you located? I know a lot of Nubian breeders of GOOD goats and clean herds in CA. They will ship or they might know breeders in your area.

lol I just assume everyone knows where I am lol. I'm sorry, I am in Kentucky. I would prefer to pick up. My husband said he is willing to drive several hours if it means not having me fretting over goat illness.

Let me ask and see if they know anyone out there. CA is a little far for a drive :)

We are looking also, for next year...a buckling preferably. Our Nubian doe is bred for mini's this year and next year I want to get a few Nubians from her before she gets too old. I want to keep any doelings.

We will get the G6S testing done on her and hopefully will find a buck that is also tested.
I am tempted to just do a driveway breeding :hide
Having a mature buck gives me an idea of what he will throw and also M/F ratio. On the other hand I love bucks. Having a buck here also means if I don't get any does than I can easily breed her again.
Not cost effective to buy a buck for one doe though.:\
Of course that hasn't stopped me in the past.:D
