Ok so I had wanted to know what would be best breed for us.
Well now is can someone tell me more on Hamshire x Yorkshire?
The sow was pure hampshire and boar was pure Yorkshire.
The piglets are white with black spots.
Hubby took me on a road trip and we got to see how big all her pig are and the mom was huge! Almost as big as the boar.
They have been wean for a few days but still look for milk.
So what would be the best food. She told us I just want to make sure.
Thanks

Best food? Depends on your situation....easiest is to just give them what they are used to and then gradually switch over to what YOU want to feed them....I'm all for pasture raising and free food, but others prefer the simplicity of hog grower pellets.

Ok thanks they said they feed pig pellets but I figured they would need piglet feed.
I just wanted to make sure I was thinking right.
So when could I start feeding garden leftovers?
I know no meat and not potato tops any part of them and no tomato plants.
Must be ripe veggies too.
I called the breeder back and got the info ( when there got talking poultry and other stuff) we forgot to get.
I found out they are what is called Blue Butts.
We got two girls. Boy were their pigs big!
I (ok not done the pig thing ) thought the ones you see at the fair are about as big as they get.
:hide yeah I know that is pretty funny now! :)
I am very impressed with the size of them. Just what my hubby wanted.
He was raised with pigs. So knows more than me. More then he let on....
Well I'll add pictures soon and put them in the right area to post them too.
Thanks for your reply.

You can put the garden leftovers in with them right away and they will eat them when they are ready to. Mine love all kinds of produce, lawn clippings (untreated lawns), plants and weeds, veggies, etc. They LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the very soft, liquified veggies, so don't skip those tomatoes that are just stinky juice! And don't take them out of their pen if they are getting soft....the pigs are waiting for the stuff to be truly "ripe."

Great! Thanks so much! I have a whole lot of those right now. We got a whole lot of rain right as they started to ripen.
Sucked for us and the chickens are to spoiled turned their little beaks up at them.
So the piglets will think they hit the jackpot!
We have some beans that got overly ripe while on vac. So they will get some of them too.
I was worried it would be to much for such young pigs.
So very good to know.
