Ok so a coworker of mine is letting me have twin boys that are 2 months old and I aleady know that I want to rubberband one of them. The question I have is I would like to start a little herd just for me so not worried about registered and show stuff but I need a little girl or do I get a older girl because I see you guys saying don't breed to early. The boys arelike I said 2 months old and fully weaned so I will not have a problem there. They are full pygmy and i thought for $30 for the pair thats not a bad deal. She said I could get a girl as soon as she has one but they would be brother and sister is that a good idea? Oh so many questions all I want is some pygmy goats and enjoy them like my big ones and my chicken. Please help thanks

If you plan on breeding, then brother/sister is not good. Especially for Pygmies, it is very important NOT to breed them too early. They can have a lot of birthing problems if bred too early. If you are very eager to have kids, then I would suggest getting an older female. But you really can't keep her with the males and she will need at least one buddy. Check out Fiasco Farm for good information for new goat people. Also do searches on this forum for info.
