Long story short, I'm able to get organic fruit and vegetable scraps. I had been feeding them to my chickens, geese, and ducks, but the goats and llama jump in and eat them too.

My goats now get them several times a week. Is there a problem with this? I don't see any cases of bloat yet and I've been feeding them this for months along with hay and a small amount of grain.

They seem to love the lettuce, broccoli, plums, cabbage and especially celery. Who knew?

Probably fine in small quantities...maybe watch it on the broccoli and cabbage a bit. I wish my girls would eat that kind of stuff-they just turn their noses up at it. :D

We raise an organic garden and the goats LOVE the fresh veggies and herbs. They wait by the fence when anyone goes to the garden hoping for a handout. Corn stalks and green bean plants are favorites. We do LIMIT the amount (makes those goodies last a whole season) and do not feed tomato vines (nightshade plants), but they enjoy a few red, ripe plum tomatoes.

My sheep are partial to cabbage and yellow squash...I don't go overboard, but they love it and I've had no problems. Good to know about tomato vines and leaves...will avoid that.

My goats love veggies they are the only animals on the farm that eat Eggplant and Okra and I think they would trample me to death for overgrown beans lol I have never had any of them come down with any issues
