Yesterday's big windstorm toppled our huge ornamental pear that is in the pasture.

All of my goats, horses and the llama ran when they heard the crack. But once it crashed to the ground they converged on it like it was their last meal.

They've been eating nothing else since yesterday afternoon when the tree fell. I haven't seen anything to indicate that ornamental pear would be harmful...but... :idunno

Anyone see any reason why I shouldn't let them have their tree feast? If gorging on one specific thing until it's gone is bad, I'll cut up the tree and haul it out. They're eating the leaves and the "berries" of the tree.

Thanks!

I cut an ornamental pear out of my Mom's yard and hualed it to my land to pile and burn. My horses converged on it like it was candy, even eating the twiggy parts of the branches. It didn't hurt them, they are all still alive and healthy, LOL. So let your animals have their treat, they should be ok.
