SO happy she is trying to stand up and walk. She is looking good! I think it is great that you are milking mom and that mom is letting you milk her. Hopefully she will keep producing milk and you can get the little one to learn how to nurse. Keep up the wonderful job you are doing with her. :D

LOL, I wouldn't say mom is letting me...... she has just learned that I am as stubborn as her and won't give up, .....so we've come to a truce........ it is no longer a rodeo to milk her, she is getting better and better. I don't know how anyone could milk these things all the time, compared to a goat it takes forever to get any drinkable amount... hehe

 I was wondering how you were milking her, but thought maybe she was just a really nice girl and just stood there for you  I am glad you are sticking with it and dealing with milking rodeos and that you two are coming to a truce.

I have to give momma credit, she is a very sweet llama, very well tempered, easy to handle, not a spitter.... but she was less than happy that I was messing with her udder. :p She has pretty much given up resisting and is standing mostly still now. Instead of having to press her up agenst the inside of the trailer she will now be milked while tied to the outside.
I'll have a milking llama in no time...... but I don't think she'll fit on a milking stand ;)

Peaches gained a pound, ( she had lost a little after the first day ) but is now up to 13 lbs.

That is great. Normally I like to see half a pound per day. With what she has been through, she is doing great! Sounds like she is going to end up being fine.

This morning she sucked down almost 1/2 the bottle in one sitting, she was hungry..... she has been trying to stand up and walk every time I turn around. When i take her outside for mom visits, she will stand for awhile and mom will lick her and nuzzle her. When she flopps down or lays on her side , mom looks up at me like " Now what do i do?" LOL....
