Sooo, he isn’t SURE if he has an appt or not. I remember him saying he had a July 8 appt, because that is my birthday and I was thinking ugh! What a crummy way to spend a birthday but oh well!
Then he later said he had an appt June 10. I knew nothing about it. He says he THINKS he called and made an appt. 😩
So he may, or may NOT have an appt. I guess we just aren’t going and hope for the best. Being in crappy health this far from town sucks.
Meanwhile I still need to make a different appt in Burns…
Boone needs as much time working in town as I can get him because he needs training and experience but my body is becoming less and less cooperative and tolerant of …well…everything.
Life used to be so good. I never saw this coming when I was younger Thought I’d still be starting colts and doing sports in my old age. 😐

If you MUST go, call your Dr & ask for some meds to carry you over. Most have "samples" on hand or can call in small, one time RX. :fl:love:hugs
Good point. If we went there , it’s possible they would have some samples. I wish they could mail them. Apparently only the Specialty pharmacy can do that. Before, when they screwed an order up, they made us drive to hospital in Idaho to pick them up.

Feeling a little better today. Maybe with the storm passing I will improve. I REALLY need to process those dumb rabbits. I would have done them 2 weeks ago but was told the boys wanted to help. They just lost heart when they saw them and then my health took a nosedive again. But maybe this afternoon. They are just going to be canned now. There’s a litter of 11 still nursing. Those will have to be my fryers, God willing and I am able!
We had quite the lightshow last night. Boone and Fen are pretty non reactive to loud noises (thankfully! Poor Heath was a basket case over gunshots, hail, thunder, jets, etc)
Apparently when thunder is directly overhead and the lightening illuminates everything, it’s more disturbing, so 160+ lb of dogs was added to the bed. 😂

In spite of the extreme discomfort it caused I spent a lot of time last night and this morning removing foxtails from Fen’s toes, chest, midline and ugh..privates. Poor guy! I had NO idea he had been running through them. Randy doesn’t go over the dogs or take care of things like I do. Anything beyond feeding is more than he’s willing to commit to, except for an occasional hug and stroke in the head. I feel awful Fen was suffering in silence. He didn’t chew, scratch, nothing to indicate there were problems but several were embedded in his skin deep enough to show blood so he’s gonna have to submit to regular grooming now or stay home with me and Boone. I already chewed on Randy’s ear about letting him run next to the 4 wheeler in the heat. He’s a very heavy coated dog and doesn’t have the sense to quit. He also is sensitive to something blooming in the sage which is why he wore Rex Specs when we went riding as his eyes would run and get red.
But that’s who Fen wants to hang with so…pfhhht!

When I used to work and train my Tervuren in the fields that were full of foxtails I used Absorbine Show Sheen -- while I hate the smell, it makes the coat super slick and a large percentage of the foxtails fell out or didn't catch in the coat. I think the Terv coat is similar to what Fen has. Hate foxtails.

GAH! Huge rainfall. The sky just split open and 30 seconds later EVERYTHING was soaked and puddled. My rabbits are NOT happy, I nearly drowned trying to get a tarp over their dang leaky pens, I was soaked and freezing before I even got to them on the side of the house. I finally had them adequately covered and Randy & Fen came out the back door just as I was heading onto the porch. Both were traumatized. He said the noise in the shop from the uninsulated metal roof was unbearable.
We are in the high desert. We don’t GET rain like that here. 😳 I think one other time since we moved here we had a super soaker.
Needless to say only Boone and the ducks enjoyed it. 🥴

So then this comes in…

If we get the predicted 60 mph winds its gonna get ugly. I can’t do anything for the rabids and I am most concerned about an incredibly heavy double gate panel that is covered in 3/4 plywood which only has 2 panel clamps holding it to his shelter. The other end is only held with baling wire to a broken gate hung on a rotten post, but I can’t get him to take me seriously about fixing things so they are safe in extreme conditions.
If it comes down on Mister, he will have to be destroyed. So yeah , another dose of anxiety here. We get crazy wicked wind. Picked up front of my round pen once and made the front flat. Picked a telephone post corner post on a fence and moved the fence straight. Blew out a cinder block retaining wall and took down one of the barns completely.
Lord, please protect the critters 🙏

Yay!! We only caught the outer edge. NO damage! Just chilled and wet, with very unhappy rabbits a traumatized sheppie and an Anatolian pup who is upset that I won’t let him stay out and play in it 😂
2 loaves of sourdough in fridge for BF. Bacon and avocado sandwiches for lunch tomorrow!! Maybe, God willing, tomorrow evening I will finally harvest those dang rabids!!
