Loving the herd life
Here is half of my first litter with the doe. Their eyes just fully opened yesterday and they almost immediately started climbing out of the nestbox. I just discovered that the white one shown has a frozen hip and nonfunctional back leg. Don't know if this is a genetic abnormality or if he/she suffered an injury, possibly during birth. At any rate, it was the first one to climb out of the nestbox so having only three functional legs hasn't slowed it down any. With them climbing out of the box already, I opened the front so that they are free to go in and out on their own which they are doing. Is this too early to do that?
