Do they have any test you can buy to see if my pig is pregnant?

Some old boys around here use a nail on a piece of string, hold it over her back and if it goes in a circle motion she's preg, if it goes side to side she's not.
Well at least its free but I dont believe in it thats for sure

There are many insane ways out there to "predict a pregnancy". Sorry didn't mean to laugh but it was funny. Some of those old wives tales...

I found this site which gives descriptions on ways to find out your pig is pregnant. IMHO, if they aren't worth $50K, pigs that is, I'd do what everyone else does, the cheap way...a calendar and observe.

Hope this helps. :)

Don't feel bad, I read it too. Not very clear but it was the only thing I could find. I felt bad laughing so I wanted to show you I wanted to help.

I think you are right to just watch. Gets expensive with livestock running to the vet all the time. Though vets are needed, I guess you have to pick and choose when a vet should get involved. :idunno

Good luck. Hope to see little piggie pictures soon. :)

Haha I thought it was just me. But what should be the first sign I should look for to see if big momma is pregnant?

Thanks,

Have no clue regarding pigs. Nor any other livestock for that matter. I've read on here about goats and that "bagging up" starts but since I got a big chuckle for my "way to open" remark on another thread, I have much to learn on pregnancy with goats as well. :)

Hope someone can help you with the possible signs. It's a little easier to watch and observe if you have just a slight inkling of what you should be looking for. :)
