Possible listeriosis in sheep that made him look like he was strangling himself.

I think Micah's 10 month old sheep about strangled himself this morning. He walked for a little while afterward, but has been down for at least 10 hours with labored breathing. He also has mucus encased normal shape / size poop. His belly is very full where this morning it looked sunken in & I don't think he has eaten anything. So I am wondering if he has a parasite or infection issue that would have caused him to lay his head on the fence and then he slid forward on the fence about strangling himself. Any ideas or suggestions? I have Ivermectin & Safegaurd, Penicillin g & Tylan 50 injection.

I don't know, but sounds like he is bloating up maybe.
Hope another more exp. person comes on with some input.
Ten hours is a long time.

I think his symptoms are being cause by listeriosis. I gave him a tube of Penn. G.

Sorry about your sheep.
I agree this sounds more like bloat.
We just got through treating a goat for Listeria in Aug-Sept. this doesn't sound like listeria.
