So I am fairly new to rabbit breeding, had a 7 month old buck whose testicles haven't descended yet and wanted to test breed to see if he'd produce any babies. Well I bred him to 2 does, first day he just humped like crazy but never fell off. Next morning did the same thing. I think he fell off one of them once. I wasn't able to tell much by palpating, but thought I felt some thing. This Sunday is day 27 and time to add the nest box. I've noticed in the last few days both girls have some pelleted feed left, but are eating their alfalfa and Timothy hay like crazy sms are still drinking plenty of water. I am giving the same amount that I was before. They both also look fuller in the tummy than my other doe that I didn't breed. Anyone else have any does not eat as much pelleted food in the last week of pregnancy?

Also, since the breeding, one testicle has dropped. Typical... I worry about something then "test" something out and everything is truly just fine.

Well I'd say at least this doe took... Woke up to her gathering her forage hay... Put the nest box in and this is what she's doing now:

The best time to palpate is between day 12 and day 14. After that, the babies are too soft to feel. They should feel like big marbles when you palpate. If your doe starts carrying straw around in her mouth, she is probably pregnant. You'll probably know by day 32. If she does not kindle by day 33, you can be almost sure she wasn't pregnant, and feel free to try breeding her again. Good luck!!
