Hello! I was finally able to get the rest of my stuff for Max and found my Rose conditioner.

I thought it worked very well and am pleased to see it working ASAP after just two days. The shine is REALLY coming out on him! He absolutely LOVES the rice root brush too. Lowers his head and falls asleep as I go through spraying and brushing.

Today was his first REAL bath. I used the whitener stuff all over him (the stuff that looks like bluing solution but won't turn him blue?) and most of the yellow came out. I have a feeling I'll have to keep washing that fairly often until the yellow comes out of his mane and tail.

His stockings were gleaming! I can't wait to see how he looks when he's dry!

Does anyone else on here use the Premier line? If so, have you found a place to purchase it?

Edit: The conditioner claims to darken the body hair on horses, from 2-3 shades. Have you found this to be true?

NO, the blue tint won't tint your horse blue!! It has a mild bleaching agent.
IMO, any time that you bathe your horse you help him become less attractive to flies, good for you! That "Palomino" mane and tail are not really white, they actually lack pigment, and are about the same color as a platinum blonde.
RoPo, I think you might want to--
1) window shop the places near you that sell horse supplies
and
2) check out the online stores, and get them to send you regular emails. I buy from a number of them, that I used to get catalogs from when I first got horses in the mid-1980's. They are
statelinetack.com
chicks.com
fosterandsmith.com
I also get mailings and buy from
horse.com country supply
HorseLoverz.com
There are a LOT of them out there, and people find the ones that they prefer--I am sure that further posts will bear this out. :D
You want the mailings because they often have no S&H sales, and THAT is when I order from them.

I wish his tail lacked pigment...

He has a reverse skunk thing going on. His tail is silver and white, mostly white, with some strands of red and JET BLACK around the actual tail. Only around the actual tail. Confuzzling...

The mane, after washing, looks REALLY good now.

The last time I used bluing solution, my poor rooster came out purple. Not blue, but royal purple.
