hello. i am having a terrible problem finding a buck to breed my girls to. they are saanen. one doe was born feb 2010, the other doe born march 2009. they were both bred december 2010 and kidded in may. they are still in milk now.
i *had* planned to breed them to someone close-by. litterally i can walk to the house. but the guy sold his one and only buck. and i didnt know anything about it until middle of november. since then i have been looking and looking and looking. i know someone a few towns over who has pygmys. and even if i go elsewhere i will end up with pygmys anyhow. seems to be only thing around here.
so my question is: if i am to try and breed to a pygmy buck what are my chances of my does actually getting bred? they are still on the short side (in my eyes anyhow).
what do you think?
ps:
also what would the kids of such a cross be like?
