Quarantine new goats from same farm

If I get baby goats from the same breeder a couple months apart, would the new baby still need to be quarantined? My assumption is yes BC it's someone else's worms coming onto my pasture (think I read that somewhere). But wasn't sure if it was necessary with them being from the same farm a couple months apart.

I'm anxious to watch baby goats play but don't want to skip required steps.

In reality, it comes down to how bio secure do you want to be. Some take it over the top, others take it seriously and are concerned, some don't know what bio security is... The key element would be if the breeder had added new outside stock to his/her pens without quarantine... As long as the breeder hasn't done that, then there should be nothing outside added in that wasn't already there when you bought your first goats... In which case, I'd keep them separated for a couple of days, just to get them adjusted and introduced.

I think you have to look at the whole picture.

There is one breeder that I have goats from and I don't quarantine goats from her, and she doesn't segregate my does that are coming to breed. We test together sometimes and have a deep trust for each other. She dry lots all her goats. We also got a bottle baby Saanen from a very trusted breeder and didn't quarantine her. If we were going to I would have had to get two since it would be horrible for her to be all alone for weeks as a baby.

I did quarantine two adult does I got that had just been "pets" for two years and I didn't know the original breeder. They lived in my front yard in a 12x12 pen with dog houses until I received blood tests back, clipped them and checked for parasites and abscesses, etc.

Is it possible that you could wait and bring them in together?

It might be less stressful on the goats. I always quarantine, the time depends on where the goat comes from.

Good thought. I don't know if I personally could wait any longer after waiting so long lol We'd have to check with the breeder but my husband won't let me talk to him yet bc it's the breeder is also his coworker and my husband feels I am/will be overbearing with questions
