Question about a banded wether

Hi, I'm new here and new to goats in general as well. I just got a Boer wether in trade on June 11th. He was elastrated the day before on the 10th by his breeder. It's been nearly a month and his scrotum is dried up like it should be but isn't even starting to drop off. It seems like the band may have been a little big for his scrotum, maybe? We've only ever elastrated larger animals before. Is it just taking a little longer than usuall or is there potential for infection? We usually see the testes drop off at around 2 weeks after banding. Is this normal for goats because the breeder also said they should drop off around 2 weeks. I don't see any sign of external infection and the area is clean. Am I just being impatient?

It normally takes 6-8 weeks for it to fall ofdoes he have a buddy? Old is he? He banded our wether when he was 6 weeks old and it wasn't till he was 3 months that it had fallen off. Welcome to the goat world. Love the pic of your puppy.

He was 9 weeks when we got him so about 3 months old now. We also have a 6 month old Boer doe who we got about 8 days later. Addictions can happen fast! Haha! I had no idea goats take so long to drop.

We generally cut too, but the breeder banded for us. We're one of those families that like rocky mountain oysters. We have banded for neighbors and family members though.

It can take weeks and weeks for the scrotum to fall off. Not sure how long as I have never paid attention to the actual dates but a LONG time.
