I took my ND doe to be bred by a friend's buck yesterday. She was clearly in heat and stood for the buck multiple times. She is still displaying signs of heat today. We don't have time to take her back again, but I am wondering. If she would have gotten pregnant yesterday would she not be still showing signs of heat today? Advice please...I'm a newbie at this breeding stuff...

It isn't being in heat and getting the buck to mate her and it is over with a snap of a finger.

she will be in heat for her cycle. 1 day mating, could be, might not be preggers. it is recommended multiple breedings over a few days to be more sure she caught.

Only way to know now is mark the date and wait 5 mos..LOL

Just mark the breeding date and if she cycles again in about 18-21 days, then she's probably open and you'll have to take her back to the buck. Somes does will cycle throughout their pregancies just to drive you batty but generally, if she doesn't cycle again, then she's bred. Good luck!
