I just weined 2 holstein bull calves off the bucket and now on grain hay and grazing pasture ... I have one who just all of a sudden has gotten weak, but the other calf was constantly sucking his navel and just right down rough on him .... I always seperated them when they would eat and let them out on pasture together .... I dont know what to do for him and need advice fast ... I moved him to my backyard away from the other calf all toghether right now but he's still weak (Had to carry him to side-by-side and haul him over here) When he stands, he's slow to move and keeps wanting to put his back down hill which I know isn't a good thing I have raised several calves off bottle/bucket before this is my first with this ... When he gets down, he won't/can't get up, i have to help him up ... what do I give him or do for him??? HELP PLEASE!!! QUICK

Give him a bottle of milk followed by a bottle of electrolytes. Watch his naval for an abscess. If you have a dairy man around then I'd suggest you give him a call or pull up to his place and bend his ear a bit. If you can't find one then you'd do well to consult a vet. Try calling a college with a good AG department and I almost bet you will be able to find someone there with more knowledge on the matter. Students may be out but the staff still has to go to work. I call Mississippi State University all of the time and they're glad to help.

Are there any other signs/symptoms these calves are displaying besides what you already mentioned?
