I was wondering, what are some of the best rabbit raising books out there? I've found a few good ones, but not a large number. What are you favorites and which ones had the most realistic and helpful information? Its part of a study I'm doing to read all I can on the different animal raising techniques.

Thanks for the help and this awesome forum. : )

Since my kids are the ones showing rabbits for 4-H we have Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits and How to Raise Rabbits(FFA sponsored)- maybe check with your local library and check out to read before buying. They both have some good information, we took what we thought would be helpful/useful to us.

What books did you find helpful?

Also, Welcome :frowglad you joined us. There is lots of good information in the rabbit section as well and friendly/knowledgeable people here too!

I would suggest that you read the Agricultural University Publications for the best information as most other books have their own point of view which in those cases do not work in real life.

Thank you so much for the responses!

I've used any rabbit book I could get my hands on, but our library doesn't have that much variety. We also use to have a pet rabbit a few years ago and she taught me a LOT about their care. I've pet-sat for my friend who owns rabbits also. Lots of ways to learn. : )

Storey's Guide is a great series!

Another good book (if you're still looking) would be Raising Better Rabbits and Cavies. It's the ARBA' official guidebook on rabbit and cavy husbandry. It's full of information from cage setup to diseases to breeding. You can either buy one directly from the ARBA or you can join them and get it free along with their quarterly magazine Domestic Rabbits.

I got started with Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits, the New Rabbit Handbook, and RaisingRabbits.com(not a book, but one if my favorite rabbit websites ever!). Another good website is the ARBA website.
