So it's been a while since I've been on BYH and I just can't seem to find an affordable place where I can have much by way of livestock but this year I've gotten off the ground raising show rabbits and loving it. I've taken several best oppisite sex of varieties at shows, gotten upto 15 quality breeding animals now, and built/ invested in a sufficiant setup. I'm noticing alot of big wigs that breed and show mini lops, as I do, looking twice when I tell them how new I am. It's great to be doing well at something I enjoy so much and I've made a ton of new freinds. I got to show at 3 regional shows this fall and also attended nationals that just happened to be a few hours away this year. I'm having a blast and learning every day!

I used to show rabbits 100 yrs ago. I remember that the show rabbit folks were always very helpful and nice. it was a good community of people.
Enjoy

I have met a couple folks that were advantagous or less than easy to get along with but but that is to be expected in any large group of people and more than 99% of the people I meet are new freinds. I love this group of people.

any tips for someone just starting to show? My DD(13 yr) will be showing Californian rabbits for 4-H this year, our club is small so we don't have a project leader for rabbits.

Make sure the toenails are trimmed. It will help everyone handling them. Make her keep good breeding and showing records. Do not let them get too fat, and handle them often.
Mostly, Have fun.
