Found this while looking up different terms, trying to figure out what Broken, Blanket, REW, etc. and thought this was very basic and easy to understand.

It really helps know the terms if asking questions to those who KNOW the terms.

BEW - Blue-eyed white - white bunny with blue eyes resulting from two Vienna genes.

Tort - Short for tortoiseshell, the most prevalent Holland Lop fur color; when used alone refers to black tortoiseshell rather than blue, chocolate or lilac tortoiseshell.

Broken - a white rabbit with patches of color. A broken black has black patches, a broken tort has tort patches, etc.


These are the terms that describe the Holland Lops I will be on the waiting list for.

This chart makes my head spin! But it's interesting to delve into the Color Gene and the A, B C D E gene. To be able to really get your color, you need to understand this. Plus I know there's a lot of luck in it too.

I recently bought the site and am working to expand and re-organize it, and bring some sections more up-to-date.
