The right to farm law is weak and really protects commercial farmers following GAMPS here, but yes, someone could get their lawyer to sue the town. It is TN though and nobody has money and people do whatever they want regardless of laws. We might try if we have to.That sounds over reaching to extreme....as well as stepping on some "rights". I'd there a Right to Farm law in your state? Any Cottage Farm laws? Those may give the population some rights that overpower? Research those things on Google. It may be helpful and prevent some of their wants.
If someone decides we are following whatever gamps are here in TN we'd possibly have some protection if we got a lawyer since we are a state registered vendor of pet milk sold only on the farm and we only sell goats on the farm as well. It would be a big fight though and there's not a lot going for this place to keep us here if the mayor and aldermen get hostile toward us and anyone farming. A big part of why we moved here specifically was 1)slightly better schools than surrounding cities and 2)I could farm. The schools have gotten worse and now they are taking away agriculture. DH's working conditions have also deteriorated a bit-for everyone at his company. We're still staying here, but IDK for how long if remaining becomes more of a fight than leaving.
